Who we are

What we collect

We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and the site shows no cookie banner because none is needed.

If you email us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you, and delete them within twelve months unless we need them for an ongoing matter.

Our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.

Links to shops

When you follow a link to a shop such as Audible, Amazon or Bookshop.org, that shop's own privacy policy applies. If a link is an affiliate link, the shop may use cookies to record that you came from us.

Fonts

We load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email us to do so. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
